Privacy Policy

SoundGrow is a growth and analytics tool for SoundCloud artists. This policy covers the web app at soundgrow.app and the SoundGrow Feed Cleaner browser extension (version 1.2.1). It explains what we store, why we store it, and how to delete it.

The short version: we store what we need to run your account and your automation. We never sell your data. We never see your SoundCloud password.

What the web app stores

WhatWhy
Email address and a hashed passwordTo sign you in. We hash passwords with bcrypt, and no one can recover them.
SoundCloud access and refresh tokensTo act for you through the official SoundCloud API. We encrypt the tokens at rest with AES-256-GCM.
Your SoundCloud profile and follower countsTo show dashboard stats and growth charts, and to detect follow-backs.
Accounts you follow and who follows youTo run targeting, the follow engine, and the cleanup tools.
Automation settings and action historyTo run the follow engine and to give you a full log of each action taken for you.
Billing status and Stripe customer idTo manage subscription access. Card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers.
Fan emails collected by your download gatesTo deliver the download and the release emails you send. These emails belong to you, not to us.
Page views and referrersFor first-party analytics. The site uses no third-party ad pixels and no tracking pixels.

Your SoundCloud connection

You connect SoundCloud through the official SoundCloud OAuth screen. We never see or store your SoundCloud password. Our access is limited to what that screen describes. You can disconnect at any time from Preferences, and this deletes the stored tokens. You can also revoke access in your SoundCloud settings.

The browser extension

The Feed Cleaner hides feed posts from accounts that SoundGrow followed for you. It only changes the display. It does not unfollow anyone, and it does not change anything on SoundCloud.

What it sends to us

The extension sends one item: a pairing token. The extension creates the token when you press Connect this browser. It sends the token with each request for your own follow list. This is the only data the extension sends anywhere. Our servers store only a hash of the token. You can revoke a paired browser from your dashboard.

What it never sends

Your feed contents, your listen activity, your browser history, and the pages you visit stay in your browser. The extension reads your SoundCloud feed only to decide what to hide. That filter runs locally on your own machine. The extension runs only on soundcloud.com and soundgrow.app. It contains no analytics, no trackers, and no remote code.

What it stores on your device

The extension stores your pairing token, your filter settings, and a cached copy of your own follow list. All of this is in the local extension storage of the browser. When you remove the extension, you remove all of it.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of processors to operate the service: Stripe for payments, and Resend for transactional and release email. SoundCloud sees the actions taken for you, because the actions happen on your account. Beyond that, we disclose data only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep account and audience data while your account is open. The follow engine needs the history to pace itself and to tell a follow-back from a new follower. When you delete your account, the data goes with it: audience records, scheduled actions, notifications, gates, and collected fan emails. We keep billing records where tax law and accounting law require it.

Your choices

You can disconnect SoundCloud, revoke a paired browser, and unsubscribe from non-essential email in Preferences. You can also delete your account. If you are in the UK, the EU, or another region with data protection rights, you can ask for a copy of your data. You can also ask us to correct or erase it. Email [email protected], and we will do it.

Children

SoundGrow is not for persons under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top. We will also tell account holders by email before the change takes effect.
